DVR (Direct Wire Re-Feed) is a cold wire feeding system (unheated) used with orbital welding heads. Accessories for the DVR ensure the integration, control, and reliability of the wire feed, as well as the safe and stable operation of the welding system.
The main accessories include:
Cold-Wire Feed Units
Control Cables
Earth (Grounding) Cables
Remote Control
Three-Jaw Lathe Chuck
These accessories are not necessarily supplied with the basic DVR system and can be ordered as options depending on the welding configuration.
1. Cold Wire Feed Units (Cold Wire Feed Units) DVR
Description
A device that feeds the welding wire (e.g., steel or special wire) to the weld head without preheating.
Used with Orbitalum DVR systems to ensure continuous wire feeding.
The design is compact, optimized for integration into existing mounting systems.
Application
Feeds wire during orbital welding of pipes or fittings.
Maintains stable wire supply, which improves weld bead quality and reduces the risk of defects.
2. Control Cable for DVR (ControlCable)
A specialized cable that transmits control signals between the DVR unit and the welding system.
Protected against mechanical damage and suitable for industrial use.
Ensures the transmission of wire feed commands, start/stop, and speed from the controller to the feeding unit.
Supports the integration of the DVR into the orbital welding system.
3. Earth Cable (EarthCable/GroundingCable)
A durable and robust cable for grounding the DVR welding system.
Features sufficient thickness and length for connection to the welding equipment's ground/mass, ensuring safe operation.
Provides electrical earthing (grounding) for the wire feed system, essential for safe operation and arc stability.
Minimizes electrical interference and the risk of electric shock.
4. Remote Control (RemoteControlOWHBasic)
The OWH Basic remote control unit for DVR systems.
Allows the operator to control the wire feed, starting or stopping the feed directly during welding.
Ergonomic design, portable, with a simple interface.
Allows the operator to quickly respond to welding needs—changing wire speed, stopping feed—without interrupting the process.
Increases process control and weld quality, especially in hard-to-reach areas.
5. Three-Jaw Lathe Chuck (Three-JawLatheChuck)
A chuck with three jaws, designed for the fixation of the wire spool or a specific wire element during feeding.
Reliable mechanical design that ensures stable gripping of the wire during rotation or feeding.
• Minimizes wire slippage, ensuring uniform and stable feed into the welding system.
